M0M0-Ghost: 38km Mountain-to-Mountain LoRa Test
Conducted a long-range LoRa transmission test using two M0M0-Ghost units between Zugspitze (2,962m) and Wank (1,780m), Germany.
Distance: 38.4km direct path. Spreading factor: SF12. Bandwidth: 125kHz. Coding rate: 4/8. Power: +20 dBm.
Hardware: standard M0M0-Ghost with stock 868MHz omnidirectional antenna. No directional antennas, no power amplification.
Results: 100% packet delivery over 47 sequential transmissions. Average RSSI: -118 dBm. Average SNR: -14 dB. Latency: ~6.2 seconds per packet (SF12 overhead).
Conditions: clear line of sight, light atmospheric moisture, temperature 4°C. Significantly exceeds typical 10-15km urban range due to ideal conditions.
Conclusion: M0M0-Ghost is field-ready for extreme range applications when LOS is available. For urban or NLOS scenarios, deploy mesh relays.
